What We Do
Mountain Valley is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation which operates a pediatric therapy clinic providing physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language therapy for children with special needs. (close)
Our program is distinguished by
- Innovation – our therapists use horses as their primary treatment strategy.
- Access to health care – we offer therapy services to all who can benefit regardless of ability to pay, and
- Standards – Mountain Valley is accredited by NARHA and our therapists are licensed to practice in California and have received training from the American Hippotherapy Association (AHA).
Every activity at Mountain Valley is conducted with great care and to the highest standard. This includes the specialized training of our therapists, the training of our volunteers and horses, the preparation of horses and facilities for therapy and the conduct of every therapy session. We place particular emphasis on safety and effective therapy.
We have met the standards set by NARHA including safety, administrative, insurance coverage, programs, facilities, and therapist credentials and we are fully accredited by that organization.
All of our therapists are licensed to practice in California, have current professional and general liability insurance coverage, and have received specialized training in equine assisted therapy from the American Hippotherapy Association.
Mountain Valley has met the credentialing requirements of Blue Shield of California and First Health/CCN and is a member of the provider network for both organizations.
Access to healthcare is a core value of Mountain Valley. We provide therapy services to every child who can benefit regardless of ability to pay. We are able to do this through our therapy scholarship program with scholarships granted on the basis of family income and family size.
