Julia Foster

Julia A. Foster was raised in the village of Empire, east of Modesto on a peach ranch owned by her parents. She attended high school in Modesto and received her B.A. in speech and language pathology from San Francisco State University in 1972. After graduation, she immediately joined the Stanislaus County Office of Education as a speech therapist and remained there until her first child was born in 1976.

She is now the Program’s speech therapist. Julia has been involved with horses her entire life and spent 25 years as a breeder, trainer and competitor with hunters and jumpers. She last competed in 2002 and now uses her equestrian skills to train the Program horses. Julia has 2 grown children, 3 grandchildren and lives in the Jacks Peak area of Carmel.
